ScreenTime Overlay ("the App") is developed and maintained by Eigen Planning ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy outlines how the App accesses, uses, and handles user data on your Android device.

The App requires access to the following Android permissions:

a) PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS

This permission is used to access your device’s app usage data. The App uses this access to:

Retrieve how long each app has been used

Calculate total daily screen time

Display a screen time popup overlay to inform you of usage

This data is accessed locally only and is never transmitted off your device.

b) SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

This permission allows the App to display an overlay (floating popup) on your screen. The overlay is used to:

Visually show your current screen time data in real-time

Remind you of your usage goals (if set)

No data is collected through the overlay itself.

c) FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE

These permissions allow the App to run a foreground service that gathers usage data continuously and shows the popup while you use other apps. This helps ensure accurate screen time tracking.

2. How We Use Your Data

All screen time and app usage data:

Is stored locally on your device

Is used only to calculate and display screen time via the popup

Is not collected, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party

We do not access or store any personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, contacts, location).

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any external services, companies, or third parties.

There are:

No analytics

No advertisements

No remote servers

All data remains private and is handled entirely within your device.

4. Security of Your Data

Because your data never leaves your device, it is protected by your device’s operating system. The App does not maintain any external database or cloud storage.

5. User Control and Permissions

The App requires explicit user action to grant the necessary permissions. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's settings:

Usage Access: Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Usage Access

Overlay Permission: Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Display over other apps

Revoking permissions will disable the App’s functionality until re-enabled.
